PowerBar Sponsors Steve Fisher
GLENDALE, Calif. (December 14, 2009) - PowerBar today announced it has signed a multi-year sponsorship agreement with Steve Fisher. The company will support the pro snowboarder and 2010 Olympic hopeful with its line up of performance nutrition energy bars, energy gels and sports drinks and will feature Fisher in an upcoming television advertising campaign.
Sports nutrition has increasingly been on the radar for Fisher over the last year as he has honed his training strategy for the 2010 season and Olympic pursuits. PowerBar will collaborate with Fisher on the development of dedicated winter sport training and nutrition resources to be featured on powerbar.com, including pro tips and insight from Fisher and other top U.S. riders.
Working with PowerBar is a natural fit as I ve been using the products in training and competition, said Fisher. In the off season I spend lots of time running the trails around Breckenridge and PowerBar Gel has been my go-to fuel. During the season when competition is at its best, a PowerBar Fruit Smoothie bar is easy to get down when your nerves are up and energy needs are high.
Fisher is a two-time X Games gold medalist and multiple winner in the Grand Prix series including a victory at Boreal in 2009.
Steve s experienced first hand the difference that proper fueling and hydration can make on the hill, and is one of the growing number of action sport athletes who recognize the importance of sports nutrition for their sport, said PowerBar sports marketing manager Chad Comstock. His drive and personality make him a great addition to the PowerBar team, and we look forward to following his success throughout the 2010 season.
PowerBar also recently announced a new sponsorship agreement with the Winter Dew Tour. As the exclusive energy bar partner PowerBar will make its sponsor debut at the December 2009 stop in Breckenridge, Colorado with the introduction of the new Athlete Performance of the Year program and an array of sports nutrition resources for winter sport competition.
