Surfers can catch more than waves these days.
Whether you're a tree hugging hippy or a nihilist neo-con I think everyone can agree that the Great Pacific Garbage Patch is a ridiculous legacy of the use of plastics by society. If you're a surfer or spend any time on the beach you've likely seen those supermarket plastic bags stuck somewhere in the sand. Now I know these things are convenient -- hell my kitchen drawer are full of them, but I guess I'm onboard with the below. Cause if there weren't there I couldn't use it. Same reason I don't by junk food - if it's in my house I'll eat it.
