Go Skateboarding Day - NYC style!Celebrating its 7th Anniversary, GSD is the official holiday of skateboarding. It was founded by the International Association of Skateboard Companies (IASC) as a cooperative of decentralized grassroots events that positively promote skateboarding in cities spanning the globe. It gets bigger and better each year, and it even received Special Congressional Recognition in 2007.

The NYC leg of GSD is run by the crew at 5boro Skateboards. It's a free event and all local skateboarders are encouraged to roll out and support the cause. This year s event will feature a skate jam from 2-4pm at the Manhattan Bridge Skatepark in Chinatown, followed by more GSD antics from 4-7pm at KCDC Skateshop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. There will be product giveaways throughout the day from event sponsors, as well as Best Trick contests with prize packs awarded to the winners.

GSD NYC 2010 is presented by 5boro, Nike SB, Red Bull and KCDC, with additional support provided by Zoo York, Prize Fighter Cutlery, DC Shoes, Volcom, CCS, Arnette, Pro Sport Wellness, Autumn, Homage, Richmond Hood Company, Official New York, and NY Skateboarding.
