Nuclear Cowboyz debuts in Baltimore this weekend.
What do you get when you combine fireballs, parkour acrobats, exotic dancers, backflips on motorcycles and a post-apocalyptic arena opera?
Nuclear Cowboyz.
Beginning tomorrow in Baltimore the Nuclear Cowboyz kicks off a 12 stop nationwide arena tour.
The event is a choreographed, high-energy performance that is one part Mad Max and one part big top circus. Set in a post-nuclear Armageddon world, two rival motorbike gangs the "Metal Mulisha" and "Soldiers of Havoc" battle for supremacy.
Now in its second year the event has evolved to include parkour acrobats - a style of running, jumping and flipping over objects, along with a host of female "Cowgirl" dancers performing alongside the world's top freestyle motocross talent.
Freestyle Motocross, or FMX, began as an alternative to the racing culture that long defined dirt bike riding. Rather than being confined to a race track, riders opted to that explore the freedom of open fields and sand dunes while executing tricks like whips, superman seat grabs and backflips.
"Nuclear Cowboyz is great for FMX because it's different from what people have seen already. This show will keep you on the edge of your seat," says rider Adam Jones. "You don't necessarily have to be a freestyle fan to come and enjoy it. With 12 guys riding and lots of pry, lighting and music, it's really jaw dropping and there's something for everyone."
"I've done pretty much every freestyle event that's ever been done," says fellow rider Ronnie Faisst. "There's none other that's ever been done like this. It's going to be amazing."
Other athletes performing include Mike Mason, Taka Higashino, Derek Garland, Jim Fitzpatrick, Beau Bamburg, Dustin Miller, Jim McNeil, Brody Wilson, Nixey Danielson, and Jeff Kargola.
