The Third Annual Billabong Design for Humanity went off Wednesday, June 17 at Avalon in Hollywood. A charity fashion event celebrating women's swimwear and dedicated to improving access to clean water around the world, this year's Design for Humanity was the best yet, attracting premier figures from both the action sports crowd and the Hollywood set.

While the red carpet showcased characters like the Billabong surf team and the ever charismatic Dingo from Danny & Dingo fame, it also brought for celebs like Sanoe Lake, the band Hoobastank, and even Miss California.

The venue hosted a few thousand people, dressed to the nines and feeling good about spending $30 bucks at the door, hundreds at the bar and, for some, thousands on various fine collections on display at the art auction. Artists on display included: Wolfgang Bloch, Harry Daily, Julie Goldstein, David Lloyd, John Van Hamersveld, Barry McGee, and Jay Alders among many others

Musical performances by Street Drum Core, Iglu & Hartly and The Airborne Toxic Event provided the post catwalk soundtrack, but the real entertainment was the fashion walk itself by a host of models wearing swimwear designed by Billabong design team headed by Director Mandy Fry.

Needless to say it was a feast for the senses and amazing time. And better for all knowing that all the proceeds were directed to Charity: Water an international aid organization that, since 2006, has installed over 1,200 water wells throughout 3rd World communities, ranging from Africa to South America to Asia. Their efforts to date have delivered clean water to over 650,000 people.
